Description

The Kamimido Hall at Horyuji Temple enshrines a Heian-period National Treasure Shaka Triad. The central Shaka Nyorai is flanked by two attendants, forming the devotional focus of a hall normally closed to the public. Kamimido opens only for three days each year, November 1–3, when the triad can be viewed inside the hall.
