DescriptionThe National Treasure Kannon Bosatsu known as Yumechigai Kannon is enshrined in Horyuji Temple's Daihozoin. Its name comes from a tradition that praying to the image can turn bad dreams into good ones. Cast in bronze in the Hakuho period, it stands 86.9 cm tall. The figure has a slender upright form and a gentle expression, with the right hand forming the abhaya gesture that signifies freedom from fear. Daihozoin is included in Horyuji's regular admission area and is open 8:00–17:00 from February 22 to November 3 and 8:00–16:30 from November 4 to February 21.
