DescriptionMuroji’s Kondo enshrines a standing Shaka Nyorai as its central image. Within the hall deep in the mountains, Shaka gazes quietly forward and, together with the surrounding Buddhist figures, creates an intensely concentrated space of prayer. Unlike temples with a bright and open atmosphere, Muroji seems protected by the mountain itself. The old character visible in the halo and robes adds to the sense of time, creating a Buddhist spot where nobility emerges from deep stillness.
