DescriptionDaigoji’s Kannon Hall enshrines Juntei Kannon, the principal image of the 11th temple of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage. The image was originally enshrined in Junteido at Kami-Daigo, but after a fire the tradition of worship was transferred to the present Kannon Hall in the Shimo-Daigo complex. While Yakushi Nyorai in the Kondo is Daigoji’s central principal image, this Kannon symbolizes Daigoji’s identity as a Kannon pilgrimage temple.
