Description

At Negoroji, Temple No. 82 on the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, a U-shaped corridor leading toward the main hall displays approximately 33,000 small Kannon statues donated by worshippers from across Japan. Known as Mantai Kannon, they line the approach to the main hall, allowing visitors to observe up close the combined prayers of countless people. These statues are separate from the temple's principal Thousand-Armed Kannon image. They stand along the usual worship route and may be viewed during visiting hours, 7:00–17:00.
