Description

The Aizen Myoo statue in Daishi Hall at Anrakuji, Temple No. 6 on the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, was carved from Japanese cypress by Kyoto master Buddhist sculptor Matsumoto Myokei. The temple states that it received the Kyoto Mayor's Award. The hall also enshrines statues of Kobo Daishi and Fudo Myoo by the same sculptor, along with 35 additional Buddhist statues. Anrakuji remains a place of devotion for protection from misfortune, and worshippers can see these images inside Daishi Hall.
