Description

The seated Yakushi Nyorai in Daiganji’s Main Hall is one of four Buddhist images there designated as National Important Cultural Properties and is traditionally attributed to Kobo Daishi Kukai. It was originally enshrined in Miyajima’s Tahoto Pagoda and was moved to Daiganji following the Meiji-era separation of Shinto and Buddhism. It can now be viewed in the Main Hall during visiting hours from 8:30 to 17:00.
