Description

This large half-seated Fudo Myoo is enshrined in Daiganji’s Gomado Hall. It was carved by Kyoto-based Buddhist sculptor Matsumoto Myokei for the reconstruction of the hall, which had been lost in the early Meiji era, and was consecrated in April 2006. Made entirely from Indian sandalwood, the statue stands about 4.8 meters high. The Gomado Hall is open year-round, and a service dedicated to Fudo Myoo is held on the 28th of each month.
