Description

Yugasan Rendaiji Temple is traditionally said to have been founded by the monk Gyoki in 733. In the Main Sanctuary, completed in 1998, the Great Fudo Myoo for Protection from Misfortune is enshrined as a front image of Yuga Daigongen. Kurashiki's official tourism site introduces it as one of Japan's largest Fudo images. It is normally worshipped from a distance, while the monthly goma ritual at 11:00 on the 28th includes special close viewing.
