Description

In Daiunin’s main hall, a large Amida triad stands at the center, surrounded along the rear of the outer sanctuary by thirty-three Kannon images representing the Saigoku Thirty-Three Pilgrimage. This unusual arrangement uses Buddhist images to evoke the Pure Land. Daiunin is also the 33rd and final temple of the Chugoku Kannon Pilgrimage, and visitors can perform the Saigoku pilgrimage sand-stepping ritual at any time.
