DescriptionThe wooden standing Fudo Myoo in Chorakuji’s Treasure Repository is an Important Cultural Property of Japan, thought to date from the Heian period. Although Fudo is normally represented with a wrathful appearance, this image has a somewhat gentler expression and is also noted for the soft treatment of its robes.
