DescriptionA wooden seated Amida Nyorai enshrined in the Buddhist hall of Mae community in Daisen. The 85.7 cm image is constructed from joined wood, with carved eyes and a lacquered surface. Its serene rounded face, softly rounded shoulders, and balanced proportions, together with shallow drapery and leg modeling, indicate a late-Heian date. Its refined technique and balance suggest a sculptor from the cultural center, and it is designated a Protected Cultural Property of Tottori Prefecture. Viewing requires advance application to the head of Mae community.
