Description

This Important Cultural Property group in Saidaiji Temple's Main Hall centers on Monju Bosatsu riding a lion, accompanied by Zenzai Doji, Utenno, Buddhabhari, and Saisho Rojin. Based on the Wutaishan tradition of Manjusri devotion, the five-figure ensemble was completed in 1302 after Eison's death at the initiative of his disciples. Numerous devotional objects were placed inside the central image.
