Description

The Important Cultural Property standing Kisshoten is displayed in Saidaiji Temple's Shuhokan. A polychrome wood-core dry-lacquer image from the Heian period, it stands 184.3 cm tall. It is thought to correspond to the life-size Kisshoten recorded in the temple's Four Heavenly Kings Hall in 1140 and may have served as one of the principal images in ceremonies held there under Eison.
