DescriptionThree monumental jo-roku Buddhist images are enshrined in Ikarugadera Temple’s Lecture Hall: Shaka Nyorai in the center, Yakushi Nyorai to the viewer’s right, and Nyoirin Kannon to the left. All are seated figures over three meters high and are designated Important Cultural Properties of Japan. They are normally kept behind closed doors, but are unveiled during the spring festival on February 22–23 and the summer festival on August 21–22, when visitors can see the impressive sight of all three images filling the hall.
