DescriptionThis Important Cultural Property, a wooden standing Shaka Nyorai owned by Enmeiji Temple, is a Kamakura-period Seiryoji-style image of Shakyamuni measuring 157.2 cm high. Its two-layered robe covers both shoulders up to the neck, while fine wave-like folds run across the body and rope-like hair forms a large spiral at the forehead, clearly displaying the characteristics of Seiryoji-style sculpture. It was originally the principal image of Sairinji Temple in Furuichi, Habikino, and was transferred to Enmeiji in 1872 together with standing images of Fudo Myoo and Gozanze Myoo. Normally not open to the public, it was specially displayed in the Treasure House on April 17–18 and May 5, 2026.
