DescriptionThe principal image of Inunakisan Shipporyuji Temple is Kurikara Tairyu Fudo Myo-o. According to temple tradition, the deity appeared when En no Gyoja founded Mt. Inunaki in 661. Represented as a dragon entwined around a sword, it symbolizes Fudo Myo-o. Shipporyuji is a central training temple of Katsuragi Shugendo, and goma prayers are offered before the principal image throughout the year. General visiting hours are 8:00–16:30, during which visitors can worship the principal image in the Main Hall.
