The principal image of Takidani Fudomyo-oji Temple is a wooden standing Fudo Myoo accompanied by Kongara Doji and Seitaka Doji. An inscription inside the central figure records its completion on March 26, 1094, providing a firm date. The Fudo is shown in the Namikiri (wave-cutting) form, standing on a rock with a sword and rope. The two attendant figures are also highly regarded, and all three were designated together as Important Cultural Properties of Japan in 1956. The principal image is normally kept behind closed doors and is unveiled on the 8th, 18th, 28th and fourth Sunday of each month. Entry into the Main Hall is limited to visitors who apply for goma prayers.
