DescriptionThe Wooden Standing Gundari Myoo is enshrined in the Nigatsudo Hall at Konshoji Temple. Dating from the Heian period, it is designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The figure is an imposing 3.6-meter-class image (363.3 cm), executed with polychromy and carved eyes. Its monumental scale and forceful presence make it one of the temple's most striking Buddhist images, and it can be viewed during regular temple hours.
