DescriptionThe wooden seated Joroku Amida Nyorai is enshrined in the Great Buddha Treasure Hall at Ishibaji Temple. Dating from the Heian period, it is designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The hall preserves eleven Buddhist statues designated as Important Cultural Properties, including this image, making it a notable place to view a group of Heian-period Buddhist sculptures at close range.
