DescriptionJoanji Temple enshrines a seated Amida Nyorai made with joined-block construction. Created in 1673, it is counted among the Four Great Buddhas of Kanazawa. Joanji is a Jodo Buddhist temple founded in 1575 by the priest Byakuyo Gyusho of Jorensha at the order of Maeda Toshiie, and the interior also enshrines an eight-armed Benzaiten, Daikokuten and Bishamonten. The grounds can be visited freely, but an advance reservation is required to enter the building and view the Amida image.
