DescriptionGenmonji Temple enshrines a joroku-scale standing Amida Nyorai. The temple traces its origin to Kaga retainer Naito Zensai receiving the temple site from the third lord, Maeda Toshitsune, and tradition says the Great Buddha was commissioned through the vow of Junsho. It is a large standing image made with joined-block construction and can still be worshipped inside the temple. Viewing of both the grounds and interior is free, but each requires an advance reservation.
