DescriptionThis triad consists of the principal Shaka Nyorai with Monju Bosatsu and Fugen Bosatsu as attendants, enshrined on the altar of the National Treasure Butsuden Hall. Zuiryuji is a Soto Zen temple developed by Maeda Toshitsune, the third lord of the Kaga Domain, as the memorial temple of the second lord, Maeda Toshinaga, and preserves an early-Edo-period Zen monastic layout. The Butsuden, built entirely of zelkova wood, is a National Treasure, and visitors can view the triad centered on the principal image inside the hall. Regular viewing is available from 9:00 to 16:30, with closing at 16:00 in winter from December 10 to January 31.
