DescriptionThe Peace Memorial Museum in Oshamambe displays a seated Kannon Bosatsu carved by Enku. Designated a Tangible Cultural Property of Oshamambe Town, the 47.0 cm-high image is carved from a single piece of wood and dates to the Kanbun era (1661–1672). The town describes it as a representative work by Enku and notes that it has been loaned to exhibitions including an Enku exhibition at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art.
