DescriptionThe principal image of Kotokuji Temple in Kamishibun-cho, Iwamizawa, is a Fudo Myoo approximately 3 meters tall. According to the official Hokkaido 88 Sacred Sites pilgrimage association, the statue was consecrated on May 1, 2007 together with the temple’s pilgrimage image of Thousand-Armed Kannon Bosatsu. Hokkaido’s official tourism site also introduces the vividly decorated Main Hall and notes the approximately 3-meter Fudo Myoo installed there in 2007. Distinct from the temple’s 12-meter Great Kannon in the grounds, this Fudo Myoo is the main object of worship inside the hall, and Kotokuji welcomes pilgrims as Temple No. 81 of the Hokkaido 88 Sacred Sites.
