DescriptionTaimadera’s Kondo houses the National Treasure seated Miroku Buddha. Although Taimadera is strongly associated with the Taima Mandala and Pure Land devotion, this Miroku image is a central presence preserving the temple’s original faith. Its ancient Hakuho-period character fills the quiet hall with deep layers of time. Against the backdrop of Mt. Nijo, the temple grounds make this a place where ancient prayer still seems vividly present.
