DescriptionAsahi Kannon-do in the grounds of Fudanji enshrines a white seated Eleven-Faced Kannon Bosatsu measuring 1 shaku 3 sun in height. It is revered as the principal image of the 30th temple on the Echigo Thirty-Three Kannon pilgrimage and the 9th temple on the Kanbara Thirty-Three Kannon pilgrimage. Official Niigata tourism information lists the site as open year-round, about a 15-minute walk from JR Furutsu Station, with parking available. As an active pilgrimage temple that is easy for general visitors to reach, it offers a clear opportunity to worship the Eleven-Faced Kannon itself.
