DescriptionMitsuishiyama Kannonji is a Shingon Chizan-school temple said to have been founded by the monk Kakue in 1409. In the main hall at the summit are an Eleven-Headed Kannon and Yakushi Nyorai. The temple is known as “Mitsuishi Kannon” for its distinctive setting, with three huge rocks adjoining the main hall. It has long attracted prayers for good relationships and safety at sea, and remains open to general worship during gate hours.
