DescriptionThe Daikokuten statue enshrined in Enmei-ji's main hall has an unusual form, seated on a large lotus leaf and a Chinese lion. It bears the inscription of the Hitachi sculptor Nemoto Risuke and dates to Horeki 10 (1760). Daikokuten is worshipped as one of the Shiroi Seven Lucky Gods, and the temple holds its Seven Lucky Gods festival from January 1 to 7. Chiba Prefecture's official tourism site lists visiting hours as 9:00–16:30 with no regular closing day. Its combination of lotus leaf and lion makes it a particularly distinctive Daikokuten image.
