Description

Thirty-three Kannon statues, numbered from No. 1 to No. 33, are enshrined throughout the grounds of Saihoji Temple and can be visited one by one while walking through the temple. Other approachable Buddhist images, including the Pokkuri Jizo and Boke-yoke Kannon, are also enshrined here. Saihoji welcomes general visitors with the aim of making the temple easy to visit in everyday life, and the grounds also contain one of Akita Prefecture's largest temple bells. It is an open temple where visitors can quietly pray while encountering many Buddhist images.
