DescriptionThirty-three Kannon statues, numbered from the first to the thirty-third, are enshrined throughout the grounds of Saihoji Temple. Visitors can walk through the temple grounds and worship each Kannon image in turn. Other approachable Buddhist images, including the “Pokkuri Jizo” and the “Boke-yoke Kannon,” are also enshrined here. Saihoji welcomes visitors in everyday life, encouraging people to visit the temple freely. The grounds also contain one of the largest temple bells in Akita Prefecture, making this an open and peaceful place where visitors can encounter a variety of Buddhist images.
