DescriptionA group of Kannon images enshrined in the Kannon Hall of Juonji Temple. Although known as the “Thirty-Three Kannon,” the hall actually contains 34 Kannon statues. Juonji is a Soto Zen temple said to have been founded in 1521 and moved to its present location around 1640. The temple grounds are also known for their azalea garden, which attracts many visitors during the flowering season. Visitors can enjoy both the Kannon images and the peaceful garden while exploring the temple.
