Description

The Kodakara Kannon Bosatsu statue is enshrined within the grounds of Toyokawa Inari Tokyo Betsuin in Akasaka. The temple traces its origins to Ooka Echizen-no-kami Tadasuke, the famous Edo magistrate, who enshrined the deity of Toyokawa Inari at his residence. Today it is a directly affiliated branch temple of Toyokawa Inari Myogonji in Aichi Prefecture. The temple’s official precinct guide identifies the Kodakara Kannon statue as one of its worship spots, where visitors pray to be blessed with children. A Kodakara Kannon festival is held every year on May 22 at 11:00. Located within walking distance of Akasaka-mitsuke and Nagatacho, this well-known temple offers direct outdoor worship of the statue during opening hours.
