Its Main Hall enshrines a standing Amida Nyorai, traditionally dated to the Muromachi period, as the principal image. Although the beauty of the garden often draws the most attention, worshipping Amida reveals Ruriko-in as a place of prayer that evokes the Pure Land. The temple is open only during special viewing periods in spring, summer and autumn.
