Rokudō Chinnō-ji stands at Rokudō-no-Tsuji, long believed to mark the boundary between this world and the next. Its repository, also known as Yakushi Hall, houses the Important Cultural Property seated image of Yakushi Nyorai (the Medicine Buddha). The temple brings together prayers for healing illness and suffering with reflection on life and death.
