DescriptionKannondō is an important hall within Ninna-ji in Omuro and is ordinarily closed to the public. Its principal image is Senju Kannon (Thousand-Armed Kannon), accompanied by Fudō Myōō (Acala), Gōzanze Myōō (Trailokyavijaya), the Twenty-Eight Attendants, and other figures, creating the solemn world of esoteric Buddhism. Because the interior is normally inaccessible, the hall evokes the depth of prayer kept within and a quiet sense of mystery.
