DescriptionWakamatsuji’s Main Hall enshrines Sho Kannon Bosatsu as its principal image. Affectionately known as Wakamatsu Kannon, it is the first temple of the Mogami Thirty-Three Kannon Pilgrimage and has also attracted broad devotion as a Kannon of matchmaking. The principal image is secret, and prayers are normally offered before a substitute Sho Kannon. In the quiet mountain grounds, Kannon’s gentleness combines with the peace of a place that has received people’s wishes for generations.
