DescriptionThis Shakyamuni statue stands in the grounds of Fukujuzan Daikokuden Myōhō-ji Temple in Kawabe, Iwaki, as a memorial to the Great East Japan Earthquake. The grounds also contain a memorial to freestyle motocross rider Eigo Sato, making the temple a place that receives and preserves community memory.
