Find answers to common questions about using MyBuddha, the Diagnosis, Buddhist Spots, and posting features.

What is MyBuddha?

MyBuddha is a service that helps you discover the Buddhist statue type that matches your current mood and sensibilities, and find places where you can encounter Buddhist statues. Based on your Diagnosis result, you can also explore Buddhist Spots that may suit you.

How is my Diagnosis result determined?

Your answers to 12 questions are used to determine the Buddhist statue type closest to you at the moment, based on the Category and Impression Tags. Please use the result as a guide for enjoying new encounters with Buddhist statues and Buddhist Spots.

What is a Buddhist Spot?

MyBuddha uses the term “Buddhist Spot” for temples, halls, museums, and other places where you can visit and encounter Buddhist statues. They are listed as starting points for discovering Buddhist statues.

Can I use MyBuddha without logging in?

You can use the Diagnosis and browse Buddhist Spots without logging in. Logging in is required for some features, including saving Diagnosis results, adding Favorites, using Notes, and creating Posts.

What do “Visited” and “Favorite” do?

“Visited” lets you keep a record of Buddhist Spots you have visited. You can review them under “Visit History” on My Page. “Favorite” lets you save Buddhist Spots that interest you or that you would like to visit someday. You can find them under “Favorite Buddhist Spots” on My Page. Both are private records for your own use.

What is the difference between a Note and a Post?

A Note is a private record that only you can see. A Post is shared publicly with other users. Use a Note for personal memories, and a Post for impressions or photos that you would like to share.

Can other people see my Diagnosis results or Favorites?

Saved Diagnosis results and Favorites are private records for your own use and are not visible to other users. Only content that you share as a Post is public.

Is the information about Buddhist Spots accurate?

We review and maintain the information listed on MyBuddha, but visiting conditions and public access may change. Before visiting, please check the latest information on the official website or another official source.

Why do the colors in my uploaded images look wrong?

When exporting images, especially after editing RAW files, please save them as JPG files using the sRGB color profile rather than Adobe RGB.

What can I see on the Buddhist Spot Map?

You can view Buddhist Spots registered on MyBuddha on a map. Select a pin to open that Buddhist Spot’s detail page.
